I like this bin because every part of it disassembles so it can be washed in the dishwasher. lid locks the bag in place which is nice too.

Depending where you are, compost bins are free in your city. Well, they are over here

What's a nicer one for around $30? Most I've seen are in this price range except for the Simple Human one.

It does look nice, and I like the rim locking the bag in place.
Having said that, just using bag inserts helped a lot with the otherwise mediocre city-issued bin.

It's a great bin, yeah it's 30$, but it's an OXO product so you know it's quality.
I bought it because I find that the one our city gave us doesn't seal very good the odors, this one does.
Easy to clean

Isn't $30 for a small bin really expensive? A massive 80L storage tote goes for $20 or less, and this tiny thing goes for $40 originally? There's no electronics in it or anything special, it's just a plastic bin

I have the tall version of this, not my favorite, the handle only goes one way so if you are trying to just dump out the bag it makes a mess, The bag holding ring also isn't great.

I know RFD may think $30 bin is too much but I have yet to find better organic bin than this - perfect size for about 3 days of worth organic waste for us (too big would last longer but smell bad). Like someone mentioned, it's really easy to clean and quite durable. $30 is good price for this as regular price is $50 I believe.

Dollar store. We picked a small bin from there and it works just fine.

That is 2.7l which is 1/3ish the size of the one posted. It is tiny with the width being less than 9". Plus whatever shipping is. That is really an apples to oranges comparison (well, maybe apples to pears as they are of the same family).

Thanks for suggestion. I'm looking to upgrade not downgrade what I already have.

There is no need for this bin if you have an in-sink disposal...aka garberator/in-sinkerator... Just chuck everything down it and hit the switch.

I have this bin. Way better than the free one the city provided me. It's easy to wash and the lid holds the bag in the bin so it doesn't fall down when it gets heavy. Well worth $30.
